There are many varieties of banana in Thailand.
Bananas vary in size, texture and taste from the small 3inch to giant 18inch. There are two categories; dessert and plantain cooking varieties. Dessert bananas are generally sweet and eaten raw. Cooking bananas are often treated as a vegetable.
If you get the chance try the fried/ barbecued bananas from street hawkers. These are usually delicious and sometimes covered in batter with sesame seeds - YUM !
